Papion's Creole Bistreaux - Authentic Louisiana Cuisine in Shreveport

I must say that I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF at Papion's last month. The service and food was outstanding . I ordered shrimp etoufee<>crawfish bread<> peach tea and for dessert I ordered the famous blueberry cheesecake omg (finger licking good). You got to give these nice ppl a try.. I will be buying someone a meal every now and then , 10 out of ten I recommend

We stopped into Papion’s for a late lunch and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. The shrimp poboy, gumbo and sweet tea were all great. However, the crawfish étouffée and bread pudding were outstanding! It’s a laid back casual setting with helpful staff.

Omg!! This small restaurant serves some of the most delicious, soul-satisfying Louisiana food I’ve had in a long time. Every bite was bursting with bold, authentic flavor and clearly made with love. The service is a little on the slower side—but trust me, it is absolutely worth the wait. Our family indulged in the jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, boudin balls, beignets, and bread pudding, and not a single dish disappointed. The savory depth, rich spices, and comforting Southern warmth in each plate were perfection. Whether you’re just passing through and craving true Louisiana cuisine or you’re a local looking for a go-to spot, this place will not fail your palate. It’s the kind of food that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Highly recommend!

We ordered the boudin balls as an appetizer and crawfish bread as a side , then my wife got the Mardi Gras nachos and she loved them. I got the stuffed shrimp and it was to die for. We got beignets and I’ve never had better before! The mocktails were amazing as well! A true 10/10. The perfect atmosphere and workers!

We ordered the stuffed shrimp, the Wednesday pasta special, and the catfish basket. The stuffed shrimp were delicious- a generous amount of shrimp throughout. The catfish and fries were wonderfully seasoned and the portion was big enough to take some home. The pasta was wonderful! The owner came out and visited with us. Very friendly and nice atmosphere. The food was so good we ordered the shrimp etoufee to go! We will be back!

What a great find! We travel through Shreveport every few months and just found this place. Now it will be our go-to for lunch or dinner! Our appetizer was the boudin balls, which were yummy! I got the Mardi Gras Nachos for my meal and just could not stop saying how great they were! My husband really enjoyed the Crawfish Étouffée! For dessert, we fought over the glazed beignets! We had never had them glazed before and they were amazing! If you are looking for authentic excellent Creole food, you must eat here!

Coming from Australia and this is my first experience with Louisiana cuisine, and wowie what a treat! The lovely lady who served me was so kind and friendly! The gumbo, chicken special, beignets and crawfish were absolutely fantastic! I have never tasted anything like gumbo and it was absolutely delicious!!!

PHENOMENAL! Warm and welcoming owner and staff. The food is the BEST I’ve ever had, and I travel a lot. Started with the shrimp étouffée, and it was out of this world. I then tried the seafood gumbo, and it was equally fantastic! If you’re looking for authentic flavor, great hospitality, and a cool vibe- look no further. Give this place a shot- you won’t regret it! I’ll be back.
